Install Python On Your Local Machine, Open Doors To Easy Programming

In the last post, we got a pretty good idea of what python is, and how easy is to work on it.

In this post, Let's learn how to install python and start our journey of ease.


We will use Anaconda to install and get started with python. Click on this link and download the anaconda as per your machine architecture.


Take some time to view and read about Anaconda, It is a wonderful and one-stop destination for all your needs of DataScience and Machine Learning toolkits.


For Ubuntu And Linux Users:


If you are a Linux user, you are all set up to start using python. You can see some changes to your terminal which should look like this



See the (base) thing over there? That tells us in what virtual environment we are using.


Windows Users:


After installing Anaconda, Search for spyder in the start menu and launch it.


Spyder IDE For Python


We will use Spyder as our IDE and editor to write our python programs. IDE is Integrated Development Environment. What it is? It is another software that makes writing our python code looks clean and modular.


Let me show you how Spyder IDE Looks, Ubuntu users can write spyder on the terminal and press enter to open it



Let's have a little drive over the components of Spyder IDE.

  • Working Directory Tree, Over the left side.

  • Editor To Write Your Script, The middle one.

  • The Python Console or Python Interpreter Over the Right Side.

  • The Variable Explorer over the right side, above the python console

Right now, the important thing is Python Console And The Variable explorer in Spyder IDE. Python Console will show you line by line how every statement you write looks in python and Variable explorer will help you look after all the variables available in the current Python Console.


Let's look at an example by what I mean.



See, how helpful are these console and variable explorer is. We will use this Python Console to drive further in python. This will help us to understand every line closely.
